The Camp Store at South Carlsbad State Beach is a hit with campers and locals. It’s located just inside the main entrance to the campground and serves a variety of food, including pizza, burgers, hotdogs and breakfast burritos. It also has a nice selection of beer, wine and hard seltzers. You can also pick up supplies, snacks, firewood, ice, ice cream and rent a board at the store.
There’s a lot more to just the food, drinks and souvineers though. You can also enjoy live music Wednesday through Sunday from about 5pm until a half hour or so after sunset. The live music features a variety of local bands, singers and performers. The stage is right outside the store on the dining patio. The campground amphitheater is also nearby.
The Camp Store has become one of the more popular designations along the San Diego coast and is usually busy most evenings and weekends. Parking is limited for non-campers. There are a few parking spots (45 minute limit) next to the store. Ponto Drive is probably your best bet (to park) if you’re planning on spending a few hours enjoying the ambiance, food/drinks, music and incredible ocean views. It’s about 3/4 of a mile walk to the Camp Store.
